Golf can be a lot of fun but if you dont know what you are doing you will become extremely frustrated. When You Practice, Practice For Confidence

Practice, practice, practice. However practice putting fron all angles and distances. Start with short putts and increase the distance once you have build your confidence. When you play a round of golf you want to be confident with putting from any distance and angle. Practice putting until you are completely confident with your skill.

You don't need an expensive putter

Though equipment is important, you simply can't depend on your putter to do the work. Understand that professionals can putt well with an old putter while an amateur can putt horribly with a very expensive putter. Having a putter that you are comfortable and confident with is way more important than having the newest putter on the market.

Keep a solid, consistent stroke

Try to focus on putting the ball solidly with the putter. Don't worry too much about whether the ball goes in or not. First focus on hitting the ball firmly and in the sweet spot.

Have A Routine

Its so important to keep focused on positive thoughts. Even something as simple as a thought can change your posture and muscle fibre activation. Follow a routine that helps you build your thoughts and confidence.

Eyes and head down.

"Keep your head down" is one of the most common golf tips out there and though this is usually used for the golf swing, it is also very useful for putting. By keeping your head down, you won't be looking up and getting excited to see if you made the putt. Often times, amateur golfers will look up quickly and this can really stop you from trusting your own stroke.

Line up right.

Your hips, feet and club face must be lined up towards the hole and you will have better accuracy.

Rhythm Is Crucial

Keep your tempo consistent when you putt. The more you practice this the better you will get.

Why you should not copy other golfers

With so many different putting styles from all over the world, it definitely proves that there really is no one clear winner when it comes to putting. You must find your own style and then fully trust in yourself. Most golfers will think that they need to copy their friends or a professional to be able to become better but this is not true at all. The truth is, putting is really all about trusting in your skills and focusing on being positive.

Visualise with your eyes closed.

Once you are lined up and know the distance close your eyes and take the putt. This is a great way to practice sice you have to concentrate and use your other senses to make the putt.

Spend More Time On The Putting Green

Perfect practice makes perfect. Every successful golfer know this and has invested time into putting.

These tips will improve your putting skills and confidence. It takes time and preserverence but the results are worth the effort.
